A remarkable woman who seemed to genuinely enjoy her students.
She certainly understood young girls and their dreams. She allowed a little rule breaking now and then!
Memories of Sr. Ann Ida highlight her genuine caring for people, her remarkable memory, the holiness that radiated in her face. I was privileged to have her be my sophomore advisor at Mundelein College
A wonderful example to us all in our years at Mundelein (1958-1962) and many years after.
Sister was a true example of a woman dedicated to the Lord.

A wonderful role model for the many students whose lives she touched and formed, may she rest in peace.
An inspirational role model to the many lives Sr. Ann Ida touched and formed, may she rest in peace.
What a woman! I would love to go back to Mundelein Weekend College and be in one of her Philosophy classes. Great teacher, great leader and good friend. Thank you Sister Ann Ida Gannon.
A strong, faith-filled woman who was an amazing role model for me and all of us at Mundelein (Class of 1968). I will always remember her smile and encouraging words.
No doubt this great woman and nun has entered the Kingdom of Heaven. She contributed so much during her lifetime and saw so many of her dreams and the dreams of other women come true. God Bless her and all the great sisters that gave me my education and contributed to my personal upbringing. May she rest in peace in her new home.
Sister Ann Ida became president of Mundelein College the same year I was a freshman, 1957. She was an important part of my college and post-college life and a wonderful role model for what a woman can achieve years before “Women’s Liberation!” I always thought she would be a dynamic head of a major international corporation if she had not chosen religious life. But so many of us our grateful that she did!
A wonderful woman and I have many fond memories of working with her while I was a student at Mundelein. She always had time to listen and to advise. She’ll never be forgotten.
Sister Ann Ida’s generosity and holiness shone in her face, in her voice, in her regal bearing. She had such grace. I will never forget her kindness in coming to my father’s wake, especially because she traveled a good distance to be there. By my calculation, she had to have been 78 years old. Though I was a student at Mundelein when she was President, she came out of respect for and friendship with my father, who worked at the Chancery Office as secretary to 4 Cardinals. Over the years they had communicated often.
May she rest in peace. (I can’t help feeling the Age of Elegance has died with Sister Ann Ida.)
Sister was a woman of GOD.
This is the passing of a remarkable woman, a strong role model, and a leader in her community. Blessed with spirit, grace, intelligence and wisdom, she gave so much to us young girls. Rest in Peace, Sister.
Sr Ann Ida was a woman of great faith & example. She was an amazing scholar, diplomat, excellent communicator, problem solver, & delightfully gracious woman! I’m so grateful to have known her! God rest her soul.
Ann Ida was a long time friend and mentor during my years as a BVM. At one very challenging time in my life, she understood the situation and responded with concrete help which resolved a very stressful time. I have been forever grateful.
My dear friend, you are missed.
