BVM Response to Recent Violence and Tension with Iraq and Iran

Believing that all life is sacred, we the Sisters of Charity, BVM endorse the statement of the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas to “call on our government to reject violence and militarism and instead to engage in the hard work of diplomacy.” We encourage our elected leaders and diplomats to acknowledge the futility of further destructiveness and to courageously and humbly pursue the necessary steps toward understanding and peace with our global neighbors.
