Catholic Schools Week 2022: Faith. Excellence. Service.
BVM Carol Marie Baum presents a first-place poster award to second grader Willamina Kane from St. Columbkille Catholic School in Dubuque, Iowa.
Faith. Excellence. Service. is the theme of Catholic Schools Week 2022. The Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary joined schools, with ties to the BVMs, across the country in celebrating Catholic education, a legacy of the ministry of the congregation since the beginning.
Students in grade school through high school were invited to create a poster expressing what Faith. Excellence. Service. means to them.
Classroom discussions around the theme set the tone of how students might think about their education in their Catholic school and how it impacts their lives in terms of Faith. Excellence. Service.
Students submitted their posters as part of a contest for Catholic Schools Week. Selected by BVM Sisters Annie Dress, Marjorie Heidkamp and, Liz Wirtz, winners from each grade level were announced Feb. 7 and awarded a cash prize.
