With a desire to bring hope to our world and community, the Sisters of Charity, BVM, together with the Sisters of the Presentation, Franciscan Sisters, Sinsinawa Dominicans, and Archbishop Zinkula, collaborated to create a message of hope, love, peace, and welcome for our immigrant communities during the season of Advent.

Moving beyond Advent, we remain committed to this message. In these tumultuous times, let us stand in solidarity with our immigrant and refugee brothers and sisters as we advocate for comprehensive immigration reform that provides a reasonable path to citizenship.

We stand in solidarity with our immigrant and
refugee brothers and sisters in the tri-state area.

We lament that the laws of our nation have not
evolved to meet the needs of our country.

We call for Comprehensive Immigration Reform rooted in justice and compassion—not in deportation—that provides a reasonable path to citizenship for undocumented persons.

Let us embody the spirit of this Advent season by embracing one another with open hearts and unwavering solidarity.

Message to immigrant communities:

We hear your cries,
We acknowledge your fears,
We affirm your hopes,
And we deeply value your presence.

Know that you are not alone. We encourage you to seek support
from local agencies and services dedicated to helping you.
